How to Read Odds
Odds are displayed in three different formats — decimal, fractional and American. All three express the same probability, just written differently.
A ৳200 stake is placed on Team A to win.
Decimal 2.25 = Fractional 5/4 = American +125.
If Team A wins, the return is ৳450 (৳250 profit + ৳200 stake back).
If Team A loses, the full ৳200 stake is lost.
A ৳200 stake on Team B to win.
Decimal 1.50 = Fractional 1/2 = American -200.
(American minus odds show how much you need to stake to win ৳100.)
If Team B wins, the return is ৳300 (৳100 profit + ৳200 stake).
The higher the odds, the greater the potential return — but the bookmaker considers the outcome less likely, which is why the odds are higher.
Multi Bet Calculation
A three-selection multi bet — decimal odds of 1.40, 1.70 and 1.90. Combined odds: 1.40 × 1.70 × 1.90 = 4.52 (approximately). A ৳100 bet returns ৳452 if all selections are correct. If any one selection is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost.
Live In-Play Betting: Bet While the Match Is On
LIVE In-play betting is different from regular betting — you can place bets after the match has started, and the odds change with every over and wicket.
Say Team A loses a big wicket in the 10th over of a T20 match. Team A's odds will rise immediately and Team B's odds will fall. Anyone who anticipated this shift can place a bet at the new odds.
In Test matches the situation is more complex — pitch behaviour, weather and the batsman's current form all influence live odds alongside the score. In ODI, the market is especially active at the end of the powerplay or the start of the death overs.
